With the school year starting back up and summer winding down, for some of us it feels like things are getting back to a normal pace. But before we glide through the rest of the year and the holidays we should probably take a moment to start planning now for projects we may want to do next year.

If you or someone you know is looking for a kitchen update, make sure to discuss what you want done with your island. There are alot of customization options and we wanted to share a couple with you:

  1. Seating. Your island will likely become the gathering point so decide if you will have seats or not. Will they be used for homework, having a quick snack or overflow seating?
  2. Double-sided storage. Homeowners LOVE having this additional storage choice, especially on the front and back sides of their island. Or, it could be a drawer or shelf.
  3. Outlets. Did you know you can run power to your island to plug in your blender or mixer, if you’re planning on using it as a prep station? Speak with your kitchen remodeler about that to get their advice and recommendations.

We just shared the top three island features, but there are plenty more. Here are the 10 Kitchen Island Features Pros Always Recommend as seen on Houzz.

Hopefully that helps in your planning for this upcoming year but if you have any questions, we’d be happy to help! We have a knack for giving homes a second life, so give us a call today!
